Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) will be launching a new night time parade, as well as dedicating an area to Marvel superheroes in the hopes of attracting an older demographic.
The theme park is looking to attract tourists from mainland China as it competes with nearby Ocean Park, reported examiner.com and will continue to expand the resort through opening more themed areas and hotels.
HKDL managing director Andrew Kam expects new additions to “further strengthen the competiveness of Hong Kong’s tourism industry, benefitting the community as a whole”.
With The Walt Disney Company acquiring Marvel Comics in 2009, HKDL certainly won’t be the last to integrate Marvel superheroes into its entertainment program with the company already designing concepts and working on incorporating Marvel characters into the Disney design. The date of actual implementation has not yet been released.
