All you need this Australia Day are thongs, a picnic basket and a view of the ocean. Image: Australiaday.com.au

Happy Australia Day!

Many of you would have started the celebrations today with office parties whilst others are packing their bags for the long weekend getaway.

15 percent more travellers are staying on Aussie shores this year compared to 2012, a Flight Centre reprt has revealed.

Tropical North Queensland and its islands saw an increase of 20 percent more travellers compared to 2011 and visitors to the Top End grew up to 25 percent.

Wherever you end up make sure you do something special at an Australia Day celebration near you.
