World’s shortest flight takes less than a minute

For those who don’t fancy long flights or ferry rides, the world’s shortest flight might be just the answer with Scottish airline Loganair winning a contract to operate the flight.

At only STG21 ($A32.18), Loganair will fly you the 1.6km between Westray and Papa Westray in around 47 seconds.

Located on Scotland’s Orkney Island, Westray has a rich history with many Medieval landmarks, whilst Papa Westray is filled with Bronze Age landmarks and has the oldest standing house in Northwest Europe.
